NonPublic Educational Services, Inc. (NESI), a subcontractor to MES for providing educational support services for the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) for the past year, was recently awarded 22 new army locations; 13 in the Continental United States (CONUS) and 9 Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) in the Republic of Korea and Japan.

The Department of Defense directs the Military Departments to provide Service members with opportunities to continue their education which are similar to those available to their peers in the civilian sector. The Army implements this directive through the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) and other programs. The ACES mission is to: 1) vigorously promote lifelong learning opportunities to sharpen the competitive edge of the Army by providing and managing quality self-development programs and services; 2) provide programs and services support to enhance job performance, skill qualifications, and career growth; and 3) provide services to family members, Department of the Army civilians, and other qualified personnel.

The services that NESI provides include:

  • Counseling Services
  • Automation & Technology Services
  • Test Administration Services
  • Test Control Services
  • Instructional Services
  • Multi-Use Learning Facility Services (MLF)

In addition, NESI will also offer online high school courses to military service members’ immediate family to include spouses and high school aged children at a special discounted per course rate through Milburn Online. The high school courses are fully accredited and are transferrable to most U.S. high schools and the Milburn Academy Inc. diploma is accepted by colleges and universities nationwide. Services offered will be central office administration of transcript evaluation; counseling; and, teacher-supported online courses in over 75 subject areas, including AP courses.
